Customizing report is an essential way to have an insight with the performance of your business finances, Vitan. I have the necessary steps to guide you on how to generate and customized reports in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Initially, there are two main ways to locate uncleared checks, depending on how the transactions were entered; these are bank-uploaded transactions and manually entered transactions. In order to run and find the unchecked reports, we need to consider that we can only view and check all the uncleared checks details and totals for bank-uploaded transactions. However, you can still generate a report if you've entered those uncleared check transactions manually in QBDT.

We can check the uncleared checks and totals by following the steps below:

1. For bank-uploaded transactions:
If your transactions were uploaded from your bank, you can find uncleared checks in the Chart of Accounts

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Company tab and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Choose the relevant bank account.
  3. Look through the transactions listed.

In this view, transactions without a checkmark are uncleared, while those with a checkmark are cleared.

On the other hand, if you've manually entered checks and want to run a report to see uncleared ones.

Here's how we can find and run a check detail report below:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, then select Banking.
  2. Click Check Detail.
  3. Go to the upper left side, select the Customize Report tab.
  4. Go to the Filters tab and type Cleared in the search box.
  5.  From there, you have to tick the No box to filter only the uncleared checks.
  6. Select OK to generate the report.
