Hello there, wellwishglobaldi.

Let's make sure you'll be able to create a transaction using the inventory item you created without receiving a prompt.

Make sure the invoice date or transaction date you select is after the date you set up in the As of date field. Here's a sample screenshot for additional reference:

For example, the inventory as of date is 03/27/2023, we should select a date that comes after that date when creating a transaction.

Will these solutions help with this message I am getting g?

The solutions provided above will definitely work, 314eventrentals! Let me elaborate on them for you so you can easily overcome the error you encountered. I’m here to help you through this process.

The error message "Select a date that's after the date you started tracking this inventory item" appears when the date on the transaction you're trying to create is earlier than the As of date of the inventory item.

To resolve this issue, I recommend ensuring that the date of the transaction matches the date when you started tracking the quantity on hand for this item.

To check the date, here's what you'll need to do:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select Products and Services.
  3. Locate the item you're trying to use in the transaction and click Edit under the Action column.
  4. On the Product/Service Information page, go to the Quantity on Hand section.
  5. Click the Starting Value link and click Got it! when prompted.
  6. In the new window, verify the As of date.
  7. If you want to change the date, edit the As of date and any other inventory details as necessary. If not, leave it as it is and click Save and Close.
