How to stop page scrolling to the top. Now, whenever you close the item you're editing, like an invoice, the page scrolls all the way back to the top, WTF Why?

Hi there, @howardjennings.

 


The regular browser tends to hold onto information that could cause problems while working with QuickBooks. To isolate this unexpected behavior, let's open QuickBooks using a private window since it doesn't store any history or form data.

 

Use these keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Internet Explorer: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift +N

 

If you're able to scroll the page successfully without going back to the top, switch back to your regular browser and clear its cache to start fresh. For your guide, check out this article: How do I clear my browser cache and temporary Internet files?.

 

 

If your current browser isn't compatible, I'd suggest you use a supported, up-to-date browser. It has a list of QuickBooks Online supported browsers and system requirements.

When closing an item or transactions you're working in QuickBooks Online (QBO), the page will automatically go back to the top. The ability to prevent this is currently unavailable.

 

I can see how this option would be helpful for you and your business. Rest assured that I'll pass along your suggestion to our Product Developers. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QBO.

I agree.  QB make this stop! It is so annoying having the page scroll back to the top. It just started recently and please fix it ASAP.  I have cursed out this program many times, as I'm trying to check invoices at the bottom of my screen and keep losing my place.

Just talked to very helpful person at Quickbooks.  This was instituted by the product engineers on the last update.  The engineers are aware many are not happy at all.  Was instructed to send feedback to product engineers and was told they would be fully aware of what my problem was.

It isnt just when you close an item, which is infuriating enough already, but even just clicking away to a new tab causes it to snap back to the top. They need to fix this ASAP its making the product unusable

This needs fixed, beyond annoying when much editing is needed. This has been an ongoing issue so it seems, Cant ya'll just put a button in the gear to Stop the Scroll, im sure it cant be that difficult!

It seems that you've posted twice with the same concern here in the Community. My colleague already explained about the screen that scrolling back to the top. Also, point you in the right direction. Quickbooks - WHY HAVE YOU NOT FIXED THIS!! This is absolutely ridiculous, and I'm considering cancelling my subscription over this one issue.  There is ZERO reason that anyone would want the page to scroll to the top after editing an item.  It adds HOURS to my workflow because I do my bookkeeping in large batches, not daily.  PLEASE FIX THIS.

The ability to prevent the page from scrolling back to the top after editing an item is currently unavailable. I can see how this option would be very much helpful for you and your business. I'd also feel the same if I were in your situation, as I am eager to have an efficient productivity workflow.

 

Please know that due to the high volumes of feature suggestions and feedback. Our product engineers might still haven't reviewed this option. With that said, I recommend sending feedback to our Product Development Team. They're always looking for ideas to consider on how to improve QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Here's how: 

 

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4.  Click Next to submit.

This issue is back and so frustrating when im trying to go through 100s on transactions to reconcile and it constantly jumps to the top of the page. Quickbooks, is there anything that can be done?

Know this isn't the experience we want you to have when using QuickBooks Online (QBO) to manage your transactions. We want to ensure this gets sorted out as soon as possible. We recommend sending a feature request to our Product Development Team. This way, they can conduct a deep checking of the system and consider your recommendation for future program updates to prevent having issues when reviewing and managing data entered and transactions. We'll input the steps to get you going:

 

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Feedback and then enter your comments or product suggestions.
  4. Once ready, click Next to submit feedback.

When will this annoying change you have made be fixed??? I do not want the page to scroll up to the top each and every time I amend a transaction!

 

I am so close to moving to Xero, such is my dissatisfaction with the QB engineers that implemented this
