We appreciate you reaching out to the Community, Stefanie4. I'm happy to assist you fix the Admin access in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

By default, access to sales, expenses, and other functions in QBO requires Admin access. In this case, however, it restricts you from performing such a process even when signed in as Admin. So, this error may be due to outdated browser cache files, causing unexpected behavior in QuickBooks. To Fix this, I recommend using a private or incognito browser to help isolate unexpected errors in QuickBooks.

You may use any of these shortcuts to enter private browsing mode:

  • Safari: CommandOptionP
  • Google Chrome: CtrlShiftN
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: CtrlShiftP

As you start basic troubleshooting, perform the following:

  1. Restart your browser.
  2. Clear your browser's cache.
  3. Add Intuit as a trusted site.

Next, log in to the QuickBooks Online homepage. Once you log in successfully without encountering system errors, go to your regular browser and clear its cache. As an alternative, you may use other supported browsers.

Furthermore, you may check out this article for comprehensive steps to record, edit, and delete expenses in QuickBooks Online: Enter and manage the expense in QuickBooks Online.
