Let's find the missing invoice in your QuickBooks Online so you can get back to working order, sunnystrawbale.

To find your missing invoice, first use the Search field. Simply go to the upper right corner of your screen, click the magnifying glass icon, and type in any of the following that you can recall:

  • Customer's name
  • Invoice number
  • Amount
  • Date

Second, please ensure that you are logging in to the correct company file. If you have confirmed that you are in the right account and are still missing certain transactions, we can check your Audit Log report to see if any changes were made to your account. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings and select Audit log.
  2. Select the appropriate UserDate, and Events filters from the Filter drop-down menu.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Locate the deleted transaction.
  5. Click the View button under the History column.
  6. Under the Event column, you'll find all the information you need for the transaction.

Lastly, if you're still experiencing issues, I recommend troubleshooting to improve the program's performance. You can start by accessing your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browsing window. Here's how to do it:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Once you're signed in, go to the Invoices tab in the Sales menu. Then, filter the invoice's Status and Date to narrow down the search.

If you find the invoice you're looking for, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This action will refresh the system and eliminate outdated data that might cause viewing or performance issues If the problem persists, I recommend using other supported browsers.

Afterward, I suggest accessing the Invoice List, Open Invoices, or Invoices and Received Payments report. This will allow you to effectively track your invoices, along with your income and receivables. To do so, navigate to the Who owes you section under the Standard tab in the Reports menu.

Moreover, QuickBooks Online (QBO) provides tools to create professional and attractive invoices. I included a resource where you can find complete guidelines for the customization of your reports. To learn more about these processes, you can refer to the articles:
