I am new to Quickbooks. I entered five journal entries myself in the past month. Where can I find those past entries?

I can see where to create a new journal entry, but the ones I entered myself are not showing up as line items in the Journal Report.

Thank you for choosing QuickBooks as your financial software.

I'm here to assist you in finding your previous journal entries within QuickBooks.

To do this, let's navigate to the Search box and review your past transactions from there. Here's how:

  1. Select the Magnifying Glass.
  2. Click Advanced Search.
  3. Adjust the filters to find the type of data you want. Enter a custom Date range and choose Journal as a Transaction type.

If you have any further questions about finding your journal entries or other transactions, feel free to ask in this thread, and I'll be happy to assist you. Have a great day!

Thanks so much for this. The search turned up Journal Entries for 2023 through August, but none after that. I created one entry with my accountant on Jan 4 that is not showing up, even though I have all dates selected. It was a lengthy one and we definitely saved it...

We appreciate you getting back here in the thread, @farhus. We'll help you locate previous journal entries inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since you can't find them using the Advance search option, we recommend utilizing the Audit log option to determine if someone from your members was making changes inside your company file. We'll walk you through the process:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top-right corner, click the Gear icon and select Audit log.
  3. Select Filter.
  4. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate User, Date, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  5. Click Apply.

For more details, please visit this page: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

If there are no changes made, we recommend running the Journal report and setting it up to show data from specific period. These are the steps:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, go to the Reports tab.
  3. In the Search bar, enter Journal.
  4. Click the result, and then utilize the Filter option to select a specific period where you want to review data.
  5. Once done, click the Run report button.

Lastly, you can also go to the Journal Entry page and click the Reverse Time Icon at the top left portion to see previous entries.

In addition, here's an article to help you manage entries inside the program: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.
