Question

I am noticing duplicate expense amounts for a few items. I have snapped pics of receipts and uploaded but I think the duplicate may be from connection to my bank?

I'll be glad to assist you with the duplicate transaction, @follettequine-gm.

Yes, the duplication of the transactions can be caused by the downloaded ones coming from your bank, as they're automatically recorded into QuickBooks Online.

With this, I suggest reviewing the duplicate transactions in the Categorized or Reviewed tab and consider excluding or matching them.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Online
  2. Go to the Transactions, then select Bank transactions.
  3. In the For Review tab, place a checkmark on the transactions.
  4. Click Exclude or Match.

Additionally, we encourage you to reconcile your accounts in QBO regularly. This helps monitor your income and expense transactions and detect possible errors accordingly.

On the other hand, you can also check out this link to learn more about reviewing, adding, or matching receipts uploaded in QB: Upload your receipts to QuickBooks Online

You may also want to check out this article as your reference in reviewing your beginning balance and looking for issues of the accounts you haven't reconciles before: Fix issues the first time you reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if there's anything else I can do for you about managing transactions. I'll be standing by for your response. Take care.
