I go to the manage billable expenses page as instructed, enter the date 12/31/2023 and click save. Every time I get this message saying this account has been deleted

Hi there, lynndoesit

I can share some insights to make sure you can successfully manage your billable expenses in QuickBooks Online.

The expense account associated with the billable expense you're attempting to manage may have been marked as inactive, which explains why you're receiving the error message "This account has been deleted."

To resolve this, I recommend checking the expense account in your chart of accounts and ensuring it is active.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Transactions tab.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Look for the account where your billable expenses are mapped.
  4. If you can't locate it, click the Gear Icon above the Action column.
  5. Choose Include Inactive.
  6. Once more, locate the account associated with your payroll expenses.
  7. If is marked as Deleted or Inactive, click the Make Active option.

Once done, go back and save your billable expenses. If the issue persists, I recommend contacting our Support Team. They have tools for looking up your account in a secure environment and determining the root cause of the error message.

To reach them:

  1. Go to the Help (?).
  2. Select the Search tab, then Contact Us.
  3. Enter a description of your concern, then hit Continue.
  4. Choose a way to connect:
  • Start a chat with a support.
  • Get a callback from the next available support.

If you have other questions or other concerns about billable expenses. I'm always here to lend a hand.
