I am unable to find an invoice that I just prepared and saved. How can I find it?

I just prepared an invoice and went back to find it, and it isn't there.  How can I find it?

Welcome to the Community, Kathy. I’m here to guide you in locating the saved invoice you prepared in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

 

You should navigate to the customer's profile and find the invoice there. Let's go through the steps to do this.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Sales menu, then choose the Customers.
  2. Find and pick the customer you created the invoice for.
  3. Go to the Transaction List column. You can view all the invoices you prepared for the customer.

 

Furthermore, I suggest visiting the Audit log if you still can't find your invoice. This feature helps you see any changes made that affected the course of action taken on your invoice and the activities done in your QBO account. To pay a visit to your Audit Log, kindly follow the steps provided below:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Audit log.
  3. Utilize the fields on the Filter panel - UserDate, or Events to limit the results.

 

Know that, you need to log in as an admin to access the audit log. Reach out to your primary admin for assistance if you don't see this feature.
