Solved

I am using QB Online and was updated to the new invoicing format. I need to convert back to the old format so that I can complete existing progress invoices. How?

Help mentioned you can revert to the old style invoicing to continue with progress invoicing, but when you click on the link they provide, it has nothing to do with reverting back to the old invoicing style.

I have solved my particular issue. One of the recent updates must have disabled the progress invoicing option. I found it switched to "off". Once I enabled it I was able to once again generate progress invoices.

Welcome to the Community, @acp06877.

I assure you I can help you on switching back to your old layout of your invoices.

In QuickBooks Online, there's a certain users are unable to switch back to the old layout. If you still have the option to switch back to your old layout. You can follow these steps:

  1. At the left navigation panel, select Sales.
  2. Click Invoices.
  3. Select a customer, then click Edit.
  4. Click Old layout.
  5. There's a prompt message will pop up on your screen, then Click Switch layout.

However, if you don't have the option to switch back to the ol layout. Know that we value your thoughts and suggestions about the new invoice. If you're one of these users, we can send feedback to our Developers team.

Here's how to do it:

  1. In your invoice, click Feedback.
  2. Type your concerns or comments on the space provided.
  3. Click Submit feedback.

Feel free to read this article for more details about the new Invoices: See what's new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

When you want to make eye-catching sales forms, I'll drop an article for it: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have other concerns regarding Invoices. I'm always around to help.

Can you clarify your directions with screen shots? I seem to be one of those people that may not be able to go back. But if I am I can't tell because I am not seeing exactly what you are describing.

My issue is that I have at least one customer that I have invoices for 2 out of 4 payments and I cannot use progress payments from the open estimate to complete the rest of the invoicing.
