Hello there! I would like to share some useful insights on what could be causing the error you're experiencing in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Ideally, we can enable Custom transaction numbers and add an Invoice number field to your forms. You can enter any preferred number or letter format in the field.

 

To ensure the transaction number appears on the invoice, make sure that the Form numbers option is selected on your template. Follow these steps to set up custom transaction numbers for invoices:

 

  1. Go to the Gear Icon, then click Account and Settings.
  2. Select Advanced from the left menu.
  3. Find the Transaction numbers section.
  4. Check the Custom transaction numbers box.
  5. Click Save.

 

Also, ensure you have the necessary permissions to access Customers & Sales areas to create invoices. Review your access rights with the Company or Master admin.

 

Moreover, if you come across any difficulties such as pages appearing blank or unresponsive options while creating invoices in your account, one possible solution is to use a private browser. A private browser operates in a mode that doesn't save browsing data like cookies or cache, which could be causing the problem. By using a private browser, you can avoid these technical issues and create invoices smoothly without any interruptions.
