Question

I followed the customer name change procedures, and the name changes for 1 day, but then reverts back to the original name. Any advice on how to fix this permanently?

I have a solution to help you change the customer's name without reverting to the original name in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Kellyosa. 

 

We can perform basic troubleshooting steps to see if it is a browser issue. There are times when the browser is full of frequently accessed page resources, which causes errors or unusual responses. 

 

To begin, open your QBO account in an incognito window. It will prevent the browser history from being saved. You can use either of these shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

 

Once logged in, we can change the name again and see it revert after one day. If it works,  I recommend clearing your browser's cache. Doing so will remove the historical data and access QuickBooks with a clean slate. You can also switch to a different supported browser.
