Question

I have a closed bank account from earlier this year, I no longer have access to log into it, is there I way I can upload the statements to QB to see sales/expenses?

I can’t log into the old account but I have downloaded statements from it. I want to be able to add the sales and expenses into QB because currently my P&Ls are off because of these missing transactions.

I can assist you with uploading your bank statements in QuickBooks Online (QBO), kpiotrowski.

Since you're unable to log in to your old account, but have downloaded statements from it, you can manually upload your transactions. Let me guide you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Chart of accounts.
  2. Look for the account you want to upload the transactions into. Then, click View register.
  3. Locate the oldest transaction, then note down the date.
  4. Before uploading the file, ensure that it's in the correct format.
  5. To manually upload your transactions, go to Transactions and select Bank transactions.
  6. Choose the blue tile for the account you'd like to upload the transactions to.
  7. Select the Link account dropdown and choose Upload from file.
  8. Select Drag and drop or select files and choose the file you downloaded from your bank. Then, click Continue.
  9. Follow the steps on the screen to match the columns on the file with the correct fields in QuickBooks. Then, select Continue.
  10. Choose the transactions you want to import, then select ContinueYes, and Done.
