Question

I have a customer that wants their statement sent in excel format instead of pdf, how do I change this?

Under Customers & Leads, I am selecting the drop down option for Statement. This will generate a statement for the selected date range and allow you to send it but there is not an option to change the format from pdf to excel.

It's great to have you here in the Community, @iscgdave!

In QuickBooks Online (QBO), you can only send your customers' statements as PDFs.

As a workaround, you can download the statement as a PDF, convert it to Excel format using an online converter or app, and then send it to your customer. Let me guide you through the process.

  1. Go to the +New button.
  2. Select Statements.
  3. Complete the details.
  4. Choose Print or Preview, then download the file.

Then, you can look for any online converters or apps. You can also find apps directly from QBO. Here's how:

  1. Go to Apps.
  2. Open the Find apps tab.
  3. Enter a keyword in the search bar or select the Browse categories dropdown to explore different apps.

After successfully converting the file, you can send it to your customer.

Just in case you want to personalize your statements, you can refer to the "Customize your statements" section of this article for guidance: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online.
