Question

I have an employee that I would like to task with just writing estimates and that's it! Can we "customize" roles to reflect this specific task only?

It's nice to see you in the Community today, info-therehabsqu.

Assigning a specific role to an employee ensures that they can efficiently complete their assigned tasks promptly. Allow me to share some details about access rights and permission levels in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Customizing a role for an employee to exclusively create estimates is currently unavailable. It'd be a great enhancement to the online program to add various data-level permissions for different user job roles, especially for a specific transaction type. Let's forward this idea straight to our developers for inclusion in future releases.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon in the upper right corner of your company and select Feedback under Profile.
  2. Enter your product suggestions in the Feedback window.
  3. Click Next to submit.

Check out the QuickBooks Blog to stay informed about the most recent developments released by our developers, along with tools to support the growth of your business.

Keep these resources handy for future reference. They explore the details of user permission levels or roles, the process to add accountant access, and the maximum number of users you can add to your subscription. Take a look at each link below for the complete details:
