Question

I have had 5 of my invoices deleted. I did not delete, but I need them. how can i recover them and why in the hell did this happen

Thank you for posting to the Community, gr8makes. I can guide you in reinstating deleted invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

The system won’t automatically delete any transaction you entered within the application. Thus the only possible reason I could tell is that this has been deleted manually. If you have other users that help you manage your account, you can tap them to know if they have deleted these invoices.

 

Moreover, there’s no direct way we can retrieve the transactions that have been deleted within Quickbooks. However, we can utilize the Audit Log report to see details entered in it to re-create the invoice. Aside from that, the report will give you the visibility of who deleted the transaction:

 

  1. Go to Settings, and select Audit log.
  2. Select the appropriate UserDate, and Events filters from the Filter drop-down menu.
  3. Click Apply.
  4. Locate the deleted transaction.
  5. Click the View button under the History column.
  6. Under the Event column, you'll find all the information you need for the transaction.
