I have journal entries in my cash account that go through September 2024 and I've not made them? How did they arrive?

Let's investigate what's causing the journal entries for September 2024 posted in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Nancy.

It's possible that another user who has access to your QBO account made this Journal Entry transaction. We can access the Audit history since it records all the changes made on a specific transaction.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit log.
  2. Click Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Choose Apply.
  5. Open the transaction you'd like to investigate.
  6. Select More, then click Audit History.
  7. To expand the view, select Show All, then click Compare.

Once confirmed, let's delete the entry in the Recurring Transaction List. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then click Recurring Transactions.
  2. Locate the Template Name and select ▼.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Hit Yes to confirm you want to delete it.

Furthermore, I've added this article to help you learn what to do if you need to update an unpaid invoice: Apply a journal entry credit to an invoice in QuickBooks Online.
