I have updated my invoice template and have saved it. Also have marked it as default, however, it will not pull up when I select create a new invoice. What am I missing?

I'm here to ensure you can apply your default invoice template to your sales form, CJD1.

The template should appear in the Print or Preview window when creating new invoices since you've already marked it as default. To verify this, we can:

  1. Create an invoice.
  2. Click the Design dropdown arrow and check if the default template you created is there and is selected.
  3. Then, tap the Review and send dropdown arrow on the lower right portion. Click Print or Preview to verify if it's applied to your invoice.

After checking and the template isn't applied, excessive cache and other browser-related issues may be causing this problem. Let's perform basic troubleshooting steps to resolve this. Start by opening your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account in an incognito or private window. Based on your browser type, please refer to the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Shift + N

Once resolved, you can switch to your default browser and clear its cache to refresh the page. Alternatively, you can use another supported browser.

Furthermore, I'll add this article to help you track invoice payments: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I'm always here to help if you have more questions about customizing your invoices in QBO. Just drop me a message, and I'll get back to you. Have a great day!
