Quick book Accounting app on iPhone. When categorizing a new transaction, such as a check deposit from my bank, I’ll create a new customer to attach to the transaction. But when I go to select the new customer in the list, it doesn’t change. This is a bug that needs to be fixed.

Welcome, and thanks for joining the QuickBooks Community forum. I see you want to change the customer name when categorizing income and meet with an issue when you select the new customer. I'm here to help rectify this issue for you.

When the application is not fully functional, one of the causes is the app's data. You can reset the app to isolate the problem. This process plays the same role as clearing the cache from your web browser. Please refer to the steps below.

For iOS:

  1. Go to Settings, then tap General.
  2. Tap iPhone Storage, then tap the QuickBooks Online app.
  3. Tap Offload App.
  4. It will free up the storage without deleting your app's documents and data.

For Android devices:

  1. Select the menu at the top right and choose Settings
  2. Press Refresh Data and choose Yes.

Once done, restart your device and reopen your QBO mobile app to double-check.

However, if the issue persists, I suggest changing the customer names using our supported browsers. Just log in using the same credentials and start your tasks. You may refer to this article to know more about the supported browsers on both web and mobile devices: System requirements for QuickBooks Online products.
