I'm trying to add my info to TurboTax. It won't let me continue. Message says to continue either add your vehicle information or recategorize your expenses.

I've updated the vehicles but it won't let me add the business miles (greyed out) and now there are a ridiculous amount of mile on 1 vehicle.

Hello there, redneckmunckin1.

I can see how essential is updating information in TurboTax to ensure accurate calculation. Hence, I'll share some troubleshooting steps to overcome the error message you received.

Beforehand, please ensure that the date the vehicle was bought was before it was placed in service for all vehicles in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

However, if that was already the case, let's troubleshoot your browser to prevent corrupted cache-related issues that cause unexpected behavior when performing the task. You can proceed to these keyboard shortcuts depending on your browser:

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift + P
  • Safari: Command Shift N
  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift N

Once it works, clear the cache from your regular browser to refresh the website's preference. Also, please utilize the system's support browser to guarantee the most secure and best experience.

Moreover, ensure that Vehicle Expenses are accurately categorized to prevent issues when adding this information to TurboTax if the issue persists. You can scan these materials for guidance:

Furthermore, consider visiting this page to prepare to file taxes through the program: QuickBooks Self-Employed annual tax guide.
