Question

I'm wondering why my invoice is same as last month with only two paychecks issues vs. 10 last billing period. Do I need to archive employees?

Last billing period $88.00+. 10 employees
This future period 1/27 - 2/27 2 employees, same cost

Welcome to the Community, lisa. I know possible reasons why you’re being charged more than you expected in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You’re right that employees are also one of the factors that causes your billing statement to increase or the other way around. Other than that, you can see the following reasons for a better understanding of your credit card or bank statement charges:

  • You are currently using Payroll.
  • It could be that sales tax is added to the base subscription price.
  • You had promotional discounts that have expired, so you are now being billed the regular price for your subscription.
  • You recently upgraded from Simple Start to Essentials, or from Essentials to Plus.

Moreover, we can get more details about the charges made on your account. Thus, we can utilize the Look up a Charge tool in this article. From there, you’ll be provided with a form where you can enter your card details to see the breakdown of the charges: Understand Intuit charges on your credit card or bank statement.

However, if it still confuses you, you can contact our Technical Support Team to help you address and determine what causing the amount to be costly. Please take note of our support hours for Plus, Essentials, Simple Start M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT Saturday 6 AM to 3 PM PT, and any time for Advanced.

Should you have other questions about managing your billing subscription, please don’t hesitate to post them here. I’m always available to lend an extra hand for help. Take care!
