Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Walksandwagssf.

I assure you that I'm here to help you manage your invoices in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

While QBSE doesn't support marking a paid invoice as unpaid, there is an alternative approach we can explore together to rectify this situation.

One possible solution is to duplicate the invoice and then change its payment. Let me show you how:

  1. In your QBSE account, select Invoices.
  2. Look for the invoice and click the dropdown menu in the Action column.
  3. Select Duplicate and make the necessary changes.
  4. Once done, Save the transaction.

Once done, delete the invoice that was marked as paid. Please see the screenshot below:

If you wish to track sales tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed, you can manually add it by creating a sales tax item that can be included in your invoices, similar to a product or service. For detailed steps, you can check out this article: Manually track sales tax in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Please don't hesitate to share any additional concerns or questions about managing your invoices. Your satisfaction is our priority, and we are committed to resolving this issue to your utmost satisfaction.
