Thanks for visiting us here today, @anromero.

I have some information about setting up an international vendor for direct deposit payment. In QuickBooks Online (QBO), international bank accounts are not recognized when sending direct deposit payments.

However, you can use accredited bank transfer services, such as Bill Pay for QBO to pay your contractors with international accounts. Please refer to these guides for details:

About adding your contractors, you can add them in as regular contractors. Just follow the steps below.

  1. Go to Payroll and then choose Contractors.
  2. Select Add a contractor.
  3. Enter the Name and Email.
  4. Click Add contractor.

After that, make sure to get the W-8BEN form for non-US citizens.

Please don't hesitate to swing by if you have follow-up questions about contractors. I'm more than happy to assist you. Take care and have a great weekend.

QuickBooks only allows you to enter US addresses and SSN. No way to bypass this for international contractors. Any suggestions?

Hello, Curts.

Yes, you're correct that QuickBooks only allows you to enter US addresses and SSNs when adding contractors. With this, I'll gladly share some suggestions on how you can pay international contractors in QuickBooks Online (QBO), so you'll get to manage your expenses accordingly.

You can integrate a third-party application or use a bank transfer service like Bill Pay to pay your international contractors in QBO. This way, you can record your payments accurately.

Also, when you do business with foreign currency transactions, you can use the multicurrency feature. You may want to check out this article as your guide to learn more about this process in QBO: Use multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

Please feel free if you have other concerns about managing contractors and expense transactions in QBO. I'm always ready to help. Take care, Curts.

Another option, you may utilize a billing management app to integrate with your QBO.

Otherwise, explore this free AP app to pay your international contractors in their local currencies.
