Entering everything manually is going to be a hassle and there are going to be mistakes made.  Extremely disappointed that this change was made and I have to figure this out now

QuickBooks constantly updates its features and functionalities to streamline processes that suit your business needs, Pponww. Regarding the update you've mentioned, can you share a screenshot of it? It can help us get on the same page and provide accurate resolution on the new feature.

Also, when you set up a product in QuickBooks, the system only applies the cost to expense transactions. The rate used for sales is based on the sales price/rate you set up.

However, if you want to link a billable expense to an invoice, you can locate it in the Suggestions column of your invoice. Then, click the Suggested Transactions hyperlink to view the linked transactions for that specific customer.

To know more about the features available in the new layout for estimates and invoices, see this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.
