Question

I originally started out using Avatax with my ecommerce. What do I need to know about disconnecting from Avatax with Quickbooks?

It's nice to see you here in the Community, boazammunition. Let me provide information about disconnecting the Avala AvaTax apps and their impact on your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

To begin with, to disconnect the app from your QBO account, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Apps in the left menu, then select My Apps.
  2. From the Action dropdown, click Disconnect. If you can't find Disconnect in the menu, select Settings, then locate the Disconnect button on the settings page.
  3. Fill in the short questionnaire.
  4. Click Confirm Disconnect to remove the app from your company profile.

When disconnecting AvaTax apps, I recommend contacting their support team to understand any implications. They can advise you on whether any adjustments to tax settings are necessary and ensure that sales tax continues to be calculated accurately.

In addition, if you encounter any issues with your connected apps, you can visit these articles for more guidance: Fix connected app issues in QuickBooks Online.

I'm still here to back you up if you have follow-up concerns about disconnecting your apps. Feel free to hit the reply button. Stay safe.
