I recorded an expense but it is not showing up in the checking account / chart of accounts

First off, double-check the date range. Ensure that the date range you view in the checking account or chart of accounts includes the date of the recorded expense. Sometimes, if the date range filter is set incorrectly, transactions can appear hidden. 

Once the date range is correct, we need to verify the account used in the transactions. Using an incorrect account will not show the transactions in the linked checking account. Therefore, selecting the correct Payment account linked to the checking account is essential.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, I suggest opening your account using an incognito/private browser. This can help rule out any potential browser-related issues or conflicts that may affect the expense's visibility in your Chart of Accounts. To open an incognito or private browser window, you can use keyboard shortcuts:

• Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P

Once you have opened the incognito or private browser window, log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account and check if the expense is now visible in your checking accounts.
