Question
I saw that there was a way to accept payments from the customer online so I used it. Now QB will not send me the funds and want to make my customer wait over 30 days.
I am new to QuickBooks and was setting everything up. My business is also brand new so I decided to send my first invoice through QuickBooks. I saw there was an option to accept payments through QuickBooks payments and decided to use it. There was no application prompt prior to sending the invoice. I did not see any way to apply for the service prior to creating the invoice. I sent the invoice through QB.
The customer paid the invoice the next morning and I received the notice that I had been paid so I went out, did the work and was excited and impressed about how smooth it went.
I get back and try to get the money transferred over to my bank account. That is when the problems started occurring. I had to go through the application process. I got a denial, then a request for more information. Email after email from the "QuickBooks payments team" I get and email asking for a utility bill, then minutes later I get an email saying that I was denied based on the type of business I was in, Automotive Repair.
I call the help line to determine how I could get the funds that were paid and was told that I couldn't. They told me to either wait at least 30 days to allow them to return the funds to my customer, at which time I could ask for payment again or I could ask my customer to deny the charge with their credit card company.
How is this a legitimate service? If there is an application process that could stop me from receiving my payment, how could QuickBooks allow me to send an invoice and accept payment from my customer. Then wanting me to tell my customer to deny the charge? How can QuickBooks hold the funds they received on my behalf?
They should not accept payments before the account is approved. Doing so and then holding the funds 30 days is conversion.
They offer no other option and refuse to return the funds to my customer quicker. I still have to go collect the funds from my customer. I don't know if I was scammed or my customer was scammed, or both.
