Question

I setup 1099NEC to be filed with the IRS & emailed and mailed to my contractors. The QB status says "InAgency" Is there a way to confirm those 1099 where sent out?

Hello @Todd11_2

Welcome to the Community! I'm here to assist you with any questions you have about QuickBooks status that says, "In Agency" and to confirm if your 1099s have been sent out to contractors in QuickBooks Online.

When your submission is marked as "In agency", it means that the IRS has received your submission but hasn't processed or confirmed its acceptance yet. Once the forms are marked as received by the IRS, your e-file status will be changed to "Agency accepted."

To see an overview of other e-filing statuses and their meanings, please review them below:

  • Received: Intuit received the submission but hasn't been submitted to the agency.
  • Prepared: Intuit converted the submission into the agency-specific format, but it hasn't been submitted to the agency.
  • Succeeded Agency: The agency has received the payment or filing.
  • Failed Preparation: Intuit couldn't convert the submission into an agency-specific format. This usually means that there was a problem with the submitted information.
  • Rejected Agency: The agency rejected the submission. Review the Details button for more information.

Additionally, here are some articles that you can read to help learn what 1099 forms there are and how you can prepare for the upcoming tax season also, learn how to add contractors and track payments you make to them:
