I use the invoice as a job description for crew leader. any way to print just material and labor w no prices? what do you guys hand to crews to describe each job?

There's no built-in feature within QuickBooks to send job descriptions to crews. I also don't recommend using an invoice for this, as it affects your books.

You may explore third-party applications to meet your business needs. Alternatively, you can create a document outside the program then manually input the information from QuickBooks and send it to your crew.
