Question

I want the old invoice template back. The new one does not allow me to invoice clients in advance with a due date of invoice date.

Client sees the invoice due date as the invoice date and therefore doesn't understand they need to pay in advance.  It also doesn't help me with invoice due based on due date.  New system is not workable.  Fix as I'm beginning to look for other options/competitors.

Hello there, jeff34. I recognize the importance of the old invoice template.

Beforehand, I'll need to clarify some details about this. Since you can send an invoice in advance and then you're allowed to change the due date.

If you like to change your due date to the same as the invoice date, you can change it.

Here's how:

  1. Open the Invoice.
  2. Besides the Invoice date, change the date you want.
  3. For the Due date, edit the date same as the Invoice date.
  4. Click Save.

After this, let me add this article on receiving customer payments as a future guide: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online
