Question

I want to add the pay link to a pdf, instead of an email. When I turn the "Add Pay Invoice link" option on.. nothing happens. How can I get the link or attach to the PDF?

I think perhaps I added all the detail in the question.

I have a different client portal that I am trying to use. I want to export the PDF and have the payment link available along side of it. Instead of sending them a separate email. Is it possible to do this? Or is the only way to get the payment link, by sending them an email?

Let me provide more information about the payment link, Dangorbey.

When you send an invoice to your client, and they export the invoice to PDF, the payment link will only be on the email body. And if you export the PDF from the QBSE recorded invoice, the payment link is excluded.

And yes, we can send the payment link through email.

I'll be sharing these articles that can help you with customizing your invoices and your payments received from clients:

I guess let me simplify the question. Is there any way to get a payment link, without sending them an email?

I appreciate you for coming back to the thread and clarifying your concern about, dangorbey. Let me provide additional insights on how payment link works in QuickBooks Self Employed to ensure you can manage it on your end.

As mentioned above, the payment link in QBSE will be available when you send or email an invoice to your client. With this, getting a payment link without sending them an email in QBSE is currently unavailable.

On the other hand, please know that creating or copying a payment link before an email is sent or without sending it first to your customer is only available in QuickBooks Online and Desktop versions.

In case you need various details on how QBSE helps you record your income and expenses, track mileage, and prepare your Schedule C tax form, you can read this article: Overview of QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can always get back on this thread if you require additional assistance regarding invoice payment in QBSE. I'll be right there to help you whenever you need it, dangorbey. Take care.
