Question

I want to get customers set up on autopay as soon as possible. If I send a recurring invoice, how soon can the start date be? Same day? next day?

Welcome to the Community space. We'll share details to help you set up autopay for your customers and their invoices inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Before anything else, please know that the Autopay function is available on pay-enabled recurring invoices. Now, depending on the details you've added to your template, you can either set a start date on a specific day within a week and have it set how many repeats it will do in a month. We'll write down the steps below to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the left navigational bar, click the +New button and choose Invoices.
  3. Create your invoice, then select Create recurring invoice on the transaction. You can also go to the recurring template inside the Gear icon.
  4. Enter the frequency interval, start date, and end date.
  5. Once done, select Save template when done.

Also, we recommend checking this page to understand how the recurring invoice or transaction works in QBO: How to schedule a recurring invoices in QuickBooks.

This does not answer my question. I did not ask HOW to set up a recurring transaction. I asked how soon I can set the start date. I want it monthly, on the same day each month to send out. If I choose the date of TODAY, it doesn't send. It would go out next month on this date.

If I have a start date for TOMORROW, so the day AFER I save this recurring template, will this issue to the customer?
