I appreciate you for taking the time to reach out in the Community for assistance, Adam.

To successfully save and add a contractor, it's essential that you provide all the necessary information on your contractor profile.

Here's how:

1. Click on the pencil icon located on the right-hand side.

2. Select "Individual" as the Contractor type.

3. Enter the contractor's First and Last Name, as well as their Display Name.

4. Make sure to enter the Social Security Number in the correct format.

5. Enter the contractor's Address, including City, State, and Zip code.

6. Click Save.

Hi -

thank you for the response, but none of this works.
Maybe I should ask this another way.

How do you add a contractor that you pay occasionally for services to quickbooks? Is that person a “Vendor” or an “Expense?”

This person does not have a corporation - he is a sole proprietor so I will use his SSN on all 1099s.
