Question

If I choose to enable QuickBooks bill pay - am I still able to write/print checks manually in my office or is it an all or nothing feature? Thank you.

For example, if I need to print a check immediately do I still have the option to do it in house or do I have to process it through bill pay?

Yes, tsadovy. You can still write and print checks manually in QuickBooks even if you choose to enable QuickBooks bill pay. Let me explain this further to you.

The bill pay feature is an optional service that allows you to pay bills electronically, however, it doesn't prevent you from writing and printing checks manually. You can continue to use the "Write Checks" feature in QuickBooks to create and print checks as needed.

Here's a guide to writing a check:

  1. Go to + New, then select Check.
  2. Choose who you want to address the check from the Payee ▼ dropdown,
  3. From the Bank Account  dropdown, pick the account you want the money to come from.
  4. Fill out the rest of the fields accordingly.
  5. (Optional) You can skip this step if you only want to record a check. But if you plan to print the check, you can choose to print it now or later.
  6. Note: If you need to reuse a check number, uncheck the Print later checkbox. When you save the check, confirm that you’re aware the check number already exists.
  7. Select Save and Close.

By following these steps, you should be able to make checks and print them in your QuickBooks Online. Have a terrific day ahead.
