Importing Journal Entries in Quickbooks Online US version

I've read that in QBO Canada version, there is a way to import journal entries (Import Data then Upload csv file of the journal entry). This feature is really convenient to users who use journal entry to accrue expenses at month-end. Why is this feature not available in the US version? You'd have to get an importer app that's from a third-party to be able to import JEs. That's another $$ to spend.

I agree that importing journal entries in QuickBooks Online is very useful in keeping your books accurate and organized, @jsedigo2.

The reason why your desired feature may be available in QuickBooks Canada but not in the US version could be due to differences in accounting standards that can vary between countries. For now, other than integrating a third-party importer application to QBO, you may add your transactions manually as a  workaround. Let me walk you through how:

  1. Go to the + New menu.
  2. Select Journal entry.
  3. Enter all necessary details needed.
  4. Once done, click Save and new or Save and close. (Review image for reference)

Learn more about what information you can import to QuickBooks Online by exploring our Importing Data FAQs.

Furthermore, I'd suggest providing feedback on this. Your ideas are highly useful to our Product Development team, as they enhance your experience in QBO. Here's how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon at the top-right, then hit Feedback.
  2. Fill in with your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Then choose Next to send feedback.

Feel free to explore our QuickBooks Online Feature Requests webpage for any feature request updates.

Please post again if there's anything else I can do to assist you. I'll be right here to provide you with answers. Keep safe.

Thanks for your response  @Mich_S .

My problem arise when I need to make a journal entry with more than 50 lines. Not all companies are willing to pay an additional fee to use a third-party app only to upload a journal entry once a month. It just isn't economical.

I'll provide feedback to the developers as you provided.

It's quite possible that ProAdvisor's in the US are against the idea of having it as the default feature.
