Question

In Quickbooks my invoices are charging a sales tax. In my state landscaping is considered a service and is nontaxable, I can't reconcile with Jobber for this reason.

I'll provide the steps for dealing with nontaxable items in QuickBooks Online.

You can set up a service item as nontaxable to prevent the system from collecting sales tax automatically when creating invoices. If you've already set up the service, you can proceed to these steps to update its tax status:

  1. Head to Sales, then Product & services.
  2. Locate the item from the lists and select Edit from the Action column.
  3. Go to the Sales tax section, then Edit sales tax.
  4. Choose Nontaxable and click Done.
  5. Select Save and Close.

After that, this tax rule will apply every time you add this service to your invoices.
