Question

In the new Quickbooks version, how can I make the Quantity column appear when I send an estimate as a link?

In order for a customer to see the Quantities of an item in an estimate, I have to send the estimate as a pdf. The Quantity column will not appear when I send the estimate as a link to be viewed online.

Welcome back to the Community, @ABradfield. I’m here to share some details about using new estimate experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You’re right that the quantity column upon using the share link option for estimates is unavailable. As we establish this modern layout in the application, we always strive to improve QuickBooks by introducing new features and enhancements. Our top priority is to provide our customers with the best possible experience.

For some reason, this specific column isn’t available yet on these improvements. Thus, I recommend sending this suggestion to our product development team. Our product development team is responsible for evaluating and implementing new enhancements, so they would be better equipped to determine the feasibility and benefits of your suggestion for our users:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

In the meantime, we can download these estimates in PDF files or send them directly to your customers. To download them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Sales menu and select Estimates.
  2. From there, locate the transaction and drill down the arrow.
  3. Select Print.
  4. Once done, follow the instructions to download the estimate.
  5. After that, you can manually send this to your customer using your personal email.

Otherwise, you can send them by opening the transaction and clicking the Send button under the Action column.

Furthermore, you can convert these estimates once your clients accept them. You can refer to this article for complete guidelines: Convert an estimate into an invoice in QuickBooks Online.
