Question

Is anyone able to insert a new line into the body, not just at the end, of an invoice you are drafting using the QB new (as of Dec 11 2023) invoice format?

That is, add a line if you have forgotten to charge for a product or service.  We used to be able to do it easily in the old invoice format.  Same question about adding a subtotal in the body of the invoice?  Can we do it in the new invoice format?  I haven't figured it out.  Thanks.

I am here to share some insights about adding lines and subtotals in between the invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

Currently, the subtotals and adding lines in between in the new invoice layout on QBO are unavailable, which would be a valuable addition to our features, so I'll take note of this. 

 

We understand that some features may not be available with the new invoice layout at the moment. However, we assure you that we are actively working on making them accessible and possible for you.

 

Thus, I recommend sending feedback to our product developers. This will give us an idea of how we may improve the functionality of QBO to meet user's needs and enhance the working experience.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.
  2. Provide your product suggestion.
  3. Click on Next to submit feedback.

Wow.  That's really disappointing to hear.  I have sent feedback about a dozen times since Dec 11 plus I have called your support line regarding this issue.  If feedback had audio, the developers would hear me yelling because it is so frustrating to not have the features I need, especially when I had them with the old invoice format.  I hope everyone is working overtime on adding the ability to insert a new line among existing entries on a draft invoice.  Thank you.
