I understand that creating an invoice is essential when operating your business, Nick. I'm here to provide troubleshooting steps so you can make it without taxes added.

To isolate the issue, let's start by resetting the data in your mobile app. Here’s how to do it on different mobile operating systems:

For iOS devices:

1. Go to your phone's settings.
2. Select General, then choose iPhone Storage.
3. Tap QuickBooks Online from the application list.
4. Select Offload App to free up the storage without deleting the documents and data for the app.

For Android devices:

1. Go to your phone's settings.
2.Choose Apps (varies by device).
3. Select QuickBooks Online from the application list.
4. Go to the Storage section, then tap Clear Data.

After refreshing the data, close and reopen your mobile app. It's also best to restart your phone. If the issue persists, uninstall and reinstall the application to start fresh. Follow the steps below to delete it

1. Tap and hold QuickBooks Online on your phone.
2. Drag the app to the Uninstall section.
3. Press Yes to confirm.

In the meantime, access your QBO account through your mobile browser and create the invoice from there.

Moreover, I'm adding this article as your reference for customizing your invoices: Customize invoices on the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

I'm always here to assist you with any other issues you encounter while using the mobile app. Feel free to reach out, and I'll be happy to help. Have a great day ahead!

Tried that as well as other things. I've been on phone with support and they have no answers or support. The app makes me set up a tax acct and everytime I do it it crashes.

Needs to be a fix. Whatever techs did last week screwed it all up.

Hi Nick,

Yes, you are not alone. Many of us have found ourselves in a sales tax rut after some sort of update within the last few weeks. On my mobile device, sales receipts no longer works without setting a rate for each item, but the system won't allow that, no tax rates are loaded, and the system won't let me add one. I think this is what you are experiencing, even though you might be articulating it differently.

For me, mobile invoices still work. It doesn't require a tax rate for each item, but it does set sales tax automatically to my business address, no matter where I go with my mobile business. If I don't update the tax rate for the invoice, I end up charging the wrong rate.

In the midst of dealing with this through phone support and posting on this website, I have been told that Quickbooks does not support the app. Surely that is a rude awakening. There is no hope that this will ever be solved. In the meantime, I have to use invoices, which take twice as long as sales receipts. One thing I want to add is that I do not suggest deleting the app and loading it again; my overall experience worsened after I did that. There is some thought that the issues we are experiencing have to do with a QBO update for Android phones, and that iPhones are not experiencing this problem. On the other hand, I have a buddy who is on QBO with an Android as well, he never got the update and his interface hasn't changed, and he has no problems. Why some us on on Android are having problems while others aren't is a head scratcher.
