Solved

Is it possible to see what customer made a payment on your "payment receipt" email? The invoice is listed but not customer info. Frustrating.

I get the email and can't remember who I billed that amount of money so I need to back to QB and navigate to invoices just to figure out who paid their bill. I talk to my customers all the time and if I could just know from a glance who's paid I would be able to thank them and won't acciddntly ask them to pay a bill they've already paid!

Thanks for coming back, danatheus.

I understand your point and how you'd want to expand the customization option on payment receipts. Together with my colleague, I will relay this suggestion to our product developers for future developments.

In the meantime, I encourage you to visit our QuickBooks Blog to be updated with the most recent improvements made in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Feel free to reach back to me if there's anything else you need to know about QuickBooks. Have a wonderful day ahead!

Thank you for posting, @danatheus.

Currently, the feature to customize the payment receipt email is still unavailable in QuickBooks. However, you can go to your Merchants account to check where and from whom the payment is coming from.

Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to the Merchant Service Center.
  2. Below Activity & Reports, click on Transactions.

Here’s more information on how to search for transactions in the Merchant Service Center

The feature to customize the template would be a great addition to the current features we have. I'll be sure to share this idea with our developers right away. For now, you can visit the QuickBooks Blog to check for new updates and features that we have.

Let me know if there is anything I can help you with or you mean something else, by leaving a comment below.

Thanks for the reply. This seems like such a no-brainer. Who designed it with the expectation that (a) you would remember which invoice number is associated with which client and (b) clicking a bunch of times to find out is a good use of time?

Is there any movement on this?  My company uses another credit card provider for our website payments and they issue an email receipt to me.  This should NOT be that difficult to do.
