Question

Is there a way that the DUE DATE of an invoice can default to the date entered instead of 30 days out? I currently change the date manually.

Yes, there is, cbnews. We only need to configure your QuickBooks Online (QBO) company settings to set your invoices' due dates on receipts.

We can start performing the steps below to change your invoice due date to the date entered and avoid amending this every time we create a transaction:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Sales tab.
  3. In the Sales form content section, click the pencil icon to make changes.
  4. Besides the Preferred invoice terms, drill down the arrow and select Due on receipt.
  5. After that, hit Save and Done.

Once the transaction has been paid, you can refer to this article to start recording their payments and keep your records accurate: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.
