Welcome to the Community. Let me share information about adding tags to journal entries in QuickBooks Online.

To begin with, please note that currently, we are unable to add tags to Journal Entry. However, if you have QuickBooks Online Advanced or Plus, you can add a class to your journal entry.

Allow me to guide you through the process:

If you haven't already, let's turn on Class tracking:

  1. Navigate to Settings and then choose Account and Settings.
  2. Click Advanced, then go to the Categories section to make changes.
  3. Turn on the Track classes toggle switch.
  4. Please choose the option to Warn Me when a transaction isn't assigned a class. This step is optional but can be helpful when reviewing reports.
  5. Under Assign classes, choose One to entire transaction or One to each row in a transaction.
  6. Finally, click Save and then Done to complete the setup.

Create a
Class:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the top right corner.
  2. Under Your Company, select All Lists.
  3. Choose Classes.
  4. Click New to create a new class and give it a name.

Assign a Class to a Journal Entry and save it:

  1. You will see a field labeled Class when you create or edit a journal entry.
  2. Select the appropriate class from the dropdown menu.
  3. Complete the rest of the journal entry details.
  4. Click Save to record the entry with the assigned class.

Moreover, you can refer to this article to learn how to reverse a journal entry to swap the debits and credits or delete it entirely: Reverse or delete a journal entry in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around if you have further concerns about adding tags to journal entries or have any QuickBooks-related queries. Keep safe.
