Is there a way to create a report showing all customers that have had NO sales activity within the past 5 years?

I'd like to thin our HUGE customer list by removing old customers with no recent sales history.  Is there a way to run a report showing me which customers I can delete?  

 

After that, it would be GREAT if there was a way to quickly make these customers inactive, but I already know the only way is to go into each one individually and edit the customer details.

Welcome to the Community. I can help you run the report to filter customers with no recent sales history.

 

I suggest you use Sales by Customer Summary to acquire the data you need. You can customize the report to show customers with zero and non-zero amounts.

 

I know you only need the data for old customers with no recent sales history. However, the option to only show zero figures is unavailable.

 

As a workaround, I recommend exporting the report to Excel and manually remove the unnecessary data. Here's how:

 

  1. On the left panel, click Reports.
  2. Scroll down and select Sales by Customer Summary.
  3. Choose a date range.
  4. Under Display columns by, select Months.
  5. Below Show non-zero or active only, choose All for the rows and columns.
  6. Filter the necessary options.
  7. Press the Export icon.
  8. Select Export to Excel. 

You're correct about making customers inactive. As of now, the only way to do it is by going to each one of them in the system.

    That worked great!

     

    Instead of monthly, I just had it show total only, then after exporting it to Excel I sorted it by total and eliminated everything that wasn't zero.  Then I printed it, which still ended up being 36 pages...now the fun begins!
