Is there a Way to Create Recurring Custom Time Frames

Is it possible to set up a recurring custom report period in QuickBooks? For example, I'd like the report to automatically update to show data for the last 14 days, or a specific recurring time frame not in the defaults without having to manually adjust the date range each time.

My use case here is that we run payroll every two weeks.  I'd like to generate a report that is automatically sent to management that has the sales, payroll by class, and payroll's percentage of revenue for the payroll period.  I'd also like to set up an annual report that shows in separate columns what the payroll percentage was for each period.

Currently, automatic updates for custom report periods like the last 14 days or specific recurring frames are unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me explain more about what we can do, @jwgerber.

QBO allows you to customize and schedule reports, but it can’t automatically adjust their date ranges to fit non-standard time frames, such as every 14 days. To update such reports, you must manually set the date to "Custom" and adjust it each time you need the report, as QBO does not automate this process.

In the meantime, I suggest forwarding this suggestion to our product engineering team. They will review your request and might consider adding this feature in upcoming updates. Here's how you can submit your feedback:

  1. Go to the Gear icon menu at the top, then select Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit feedback.

Check the article in running reports to help you maintain your business's financial control, respond agilely to market conditions, and plan strategically for future growth.

Additionally, using QBO's customization features to create reports specifically for your needs helps you manage your business better. It lets you examine your company's financial situation and overall performance in detail, which helps you use your resources more strategically and plan for the future more effectively.

If you have more questions or if there's anything else I can help you with custom reports in QBO, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to support you in any way I can!
