Hello lynn3838,

Yes, we can edit the estimate template and adjust the column widths. Here's how to do it:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner and select Custom form styles.
  2. Look for the estimate template and click Edit.
  3. Go to the Content tab and select the second blurred section.
  4. Go to the COLUMNS section and click EDIT LABELS AND WIDTHS.
  5. Adjust the column widths and select Done.

You might also want to try importing your own template in QuickBooks Online. You can browse this article for more information:Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.

What about editing the column width in the 'bill to' section? This is outside of the content section referenced in the answer below. There has to be a way to do this, but I've yet to find it.

Hello, AM Quadrant,

The Bill to section is not adjustable. If you'd like, you can submit feedback about this. That way, our engineers will know that you want an option to adjust it. From your QBO company, just click on the Gear icon, choose Feedback, and enter the details.

You can also find and vote on other ideas that you like on the Customer Feedback for QuickBooks Online page.

If you have other concerns about customizing form styles, feel free to go back to this thread. Take care always.

I can change the printed estimate column widths. I need to change the description width when writing an estimate. It’s two words wide.

I can see how convenient it is to adjust the width of the description column when creating estimates according to your preferences, TomJT.

While adjusting column widths isn't an option because of how the interface is set up, QuickBooks Online uses default templates to maintain consistency across all estimates for a professional look.

Nevertheless, you can still share your feedback and suggestions with our product engineers by following these steps:

  1. Click the Gear Icon.
  2. Under Profile, click on Feedback.
  3. Enter your Suggestions.
  4. Then click Submit.
