Question

Is there a way to run the budget vs actual report using this year to last month (Jan 1 through Feb 28) but showing the yearly budgeted amount, not "prorated" by month?

I need to close out reports on the last day of each month, but we like to see the budgeted yearly amount as our spending as a Church fluctuates.

At present, there is no option to customize the display of the annual budgeted amount when selecting only two months of the year. In the meantime, I will offer a workaround that will enable you to monitor your budget versus actual report according to your preferences.

When running a Budget vs Actual report and changing the period from January to February this year, the report will only show the prorated amount.

As a workaround, you can export the report to Excel and customize it from there. I'll show you the steps to export the report below:

  1. Go to Reports, and choose the desired data to export.
  2. Select the Export/Print ▼ dropdown, then select the following options:
  • Choose Export to Excel.
    1. Click Downloads from your browser.
    2. Hit the Excel report you want to export to run it.

Once downloaded, you can modify it and add the necessary details.
