I understand the importance of efficiently managing transactions and appreciate your efforts in finding ways to make it work, @heatandcool-aeri. I'm here to provide you with some insights and a workaround in setting up products by pound or per hour in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To begin with, we can utilize of the Custom Form Style to rename the "Quantity" field and treat it as either "Pound" or "Hour". Once the field has been updated and modified, the "Pound/Hour" column should appear when the invoice is printed.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. In the Gear icon, choose Custom Form Styles.
  2. Search the Standard or Master template, then click Edit.
  3. Go to the Content tab, then click the middle part of the template.
  4. Click the Edit labels and widths.
  5. Then rename the Quantity to Pound/Hour
  6. Hit Done

I've included these screenshots for your visual reference; however, the names listed are merely examples and are not actual.

It is important to note that this feature is only available in the old layout of QBO. However, for some users, there's no option to switch from the new layout to the old layout. If you are one of the users who don't have this option, I recommend sending feedback to our Developer Team. This way, they can see your request and consider it for the next program update.

Alternatively, you can look for a third-party app that allows you to sell your products by count or weight in the QuickBooks Apps Center or by searching through the Apps menu in QBO.

Here's how:

  1. On the left panel, click Apps.
  2. Go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. Use the search bar and enter the keyword to look for an app.
