Question

Is there an auto-save function? I got called away in the middle of making an estimate. when I came back I was signed out. It seems that all of my work was lost. Sigh.

I'm here to provide information about the undone tasks for your estimates in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @jen-greenfernstu.

In QuickBooks Online, the auto-save feature is currently unavailable. If you have an unfinished task, it's important to manually save your progress before leaving the task or the page to avoid losing any unsaved changes.

Moreover, you can check out this article for future reference on how you can record your payments from your customer: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

I understand that, ideally, I should save my work...but sometimes life happens, and you get called away.  Additionally, every other paid service/system/program that I have used in the last 15 years has an auto-save feature.  I do not understand how a company as big as QB does not have this as part of it's paid subscriptions.  It is frustrating.

This has happened to me so many times! It's so frustrating and such a time waster. And the busier you are multi-tasking with your business the more it happens, so it's exactly when you're too busy to deal with it.

Yea, that would make a lot of sense and would solve the many complaints like yours. But, Intuit has never bothered to create such functionality.

Thanks for validating that this is a wanted feature.  It is disappointing that it is not an option.
