In the Invoice window templates pop up, choose Edit current template to open up Layout Designer.  In Layout Designer, choose File->Delete Template.

Select the template you want to delete and press the delete button.

I don't think you can delete the built in templates (they aren't in your file - they are stored in the QuickBooks application).

This is correct!!!  After 45 minutes of searching the web, not finding the answer and just trying to rename the template to make it say "do not use." I stumbled upon the Layout Designer allowing a delete.  Yeah!  But I must say not very intuitive based on the past way to delete a template.

What if I'm running on Windows 10? I don't see the same options.

Hi there, Morrisman.

The steps provided above are for Mac. I'll show you the steps to delete your invoice template on QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). Here's how:

  1. Go to the Lists menu, select Template.
  2. Right-click the Template you want to delete.
  3. Select Delete Template.
  4. Then, click OK.

You'll want to customize your invoice template to manage how they look.
