Question

It says my 1099 forms have been mailed but my contractors are contacting me and have not received them. How long does it take to get those?

I'm glad to see you here, @customwoodworksm.

Let me share info about how your contractors can receive the 1099 forms and help you with what to perform.

Your contractors won't receive an email of the e-filed 1099 forms a week after it's filed. Or it usually takes place after January 31st, as it is the deadline set by the IRS for submission.

After a week, they haven't received any mailed 1099 forms, I recommend inviting them to view the digital copies of the form. Here's how:

  1. Go to Payroll and select Contractors.
  2. Select Add a contractor.
  3. Enter the contractor’s name and email in the fields provided, then select Add Contractor. We’ll send your contractor an email in real-time. The contractor’s profile will be saved in both the Contractors and the Vendors tab.

For more details, you can read this article: Invite a contractor to add their own tax info.
